In May, RIM officially announced BlackBerry OS 7 and two snazzy new Bold handsets that featured greatly updated hardware. In demonstrations, the new OS showed snappy performance, but there’s a downside: if you want BlackBerry OS 7, you’re going to have to purchase a new phone. It won’t be made available to older BlackBerry devices.
