The Remote app is an iPhone app developed by Apple Inc. that lets you control any iTunes on any MAC or PC and your AppleTV device. Play, Pause, Skip, Shuffle, and more. Control music on your computer, or watch movies on your AppleTV all from your iPhone or iPod touch acting as the remote control. On first launch, Remote guides you through a setup where you enter a secure unique passcode in iTunes or on AppleTV to pair your iPod touch or iPhone. The great thing about using the iPhone or iPod touch app, instead of the tiny little white Apple Remote, is that you get live visuals as you control your device, including album cover art and descriptions for now playing songs, and access to browse your library with the exciting Cover Flow goodness. The new version of Remote features a mouse like pad where you just drag your fingers on the iPhone screen and tap to click. This makes it really simple and quick to move around the screen as opposed to using the old fashioned remote. Browse through your iTunes or AppleTV media collection or search for new movies and TV shows on the iTunes Store with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Remote app uses WiFi so you can control your iTunes or AppleTV anywhere in your home as long as you get wireless signal.
