There are a lot of apps in App Store developed by talented developers who do not have much time for app support and promotion. With AppExchange developers may find a new owner for their apps. iPhone Application List also welcomes developers of technology savvy apps to submit their apps for sale along with app engines. Many apps in App Store are close to greatness and require just a little touch up such as PR or design improvements to become bestsellers. App Exchange is a place to find a great app for sale and give it a second life as a bestseller.
