It wasn’t long before InMethod created an application that would change mobile entertainment as we know it. In many cases, watching video on the go was made possible through applications that, more or less, served as a recreation of their respective websites, but Air Video proves to be different from the rest. With the ability to watch the downloaded videos from your Mac or PC onto your iPad, in addition to being able to convert videos both live and offline, the Air Video app allows its users to enjoy their iTunes library, whether it be TV shows, Movies, or Music Videos without the hassle of another download to their mobile device. Through local networks and internet connections, Air Video provides a virtually seamless stream of content. However, despite its innovative features, Air Video has its downsides. For one, all videos downloaded through iTunes that are DRM protected will not play through the application. Also, setting the actual internet connection proved to be quite tricky, but manageable nonetheless. After downloading the Air Video Server on the computer, a unique PIN will be provided in order for the streaming to commence. From my perspective, it was definitely worth the extra work to get the Air Video application running on the iPad. Now I’m able to enjoy my music, videos, and TV shows wherever my travels take me.
